FISHING SAT. 9/3

WE ARE FISHING SAT 9/3 BOTH 8 AM TRIP AND 1:30 PM TRIP. I WILL KEEP AN EYE ON HERMINE AND MAKE A DETERMINATION FOR SUN. &  MON

The wind died down and the seas became calm mid morning today and made for a beautiful day on the water. Catching was slow, with shorts providing decent action, Matt "red shirt" had the pool fish with a nice 4:25 lb fluke, but only a couple other keepers were landed. Looks good for Sat, so come on down as Sun and Mon don't look so good right now. Check back later for updates. Check out the latest pics in the Catches of Week section.

SAILING EVERYDAY, TWICE A DAY  8 AM-12:30 PM  &  1:30 PM-6 PM

Not much going on with the catching all week, mostly shorts with very few keepers. Hoping it will pick up as the summer season winds down.

We had a great charter on Thursday organized and sponsored by Jim Rosa of Normandy Realty with Hillman Consulting and C-K Air Conditioning co-sponsors. It was an unusual charter for us and I did not fully grasp the concept until the bus arrived and the fisherpersons were aboard. Jim, Bill and others planned a fishing outing for homeless veterans, they were not physically wounded, but for their specific situation, had lost there way and were trying to find the road back. They were a great group of men and women and Jeremy, Jake and I were honored to be in their company. We thank them for their service and wish them all the best!!  Oh and by the way, fishing was crummy, shorts, sea robins but I think it was a good day for all aboard.

N. Plainfied Johnny, if you read this, come on down on Sun AM.

AUGUST 30, 2016 UPDATE

Not much has changed over the past few days, with the shorts providing most of the action and a few keepers mixed in. On Saturday Derek was out with his 4 kids and they managed a keeper each with Meghan taking the pool with a 7 pound fluke.  Yesterday the fishing seemed better on the afternoon trip with Kyle taking home 3 keepers  including the 6 pound pool winner. young Garrett and Dylan each landed a keeper. Today the morning trip was slow, with the last drift saving the day and Billy getting a 4 pounder to take the pool. The afternoon saw Vinny's grandson, Jake catching his "1st ever" fluke and it was 4 pounder, but Matt took the pool with a 6 pounder. So the catching is far from good, it appears there are some bigger fish in the mix again. Summer is almost over and the kids will be back in school, so why not get that last trip of the summer in, have some family fun and maybe bring home dinner.
