Updating the past few days, Monday's pm trip saw the bigger fish with Tom landing 2 keepers between 4-6 lbs. aiong with so many throwbacks. On Tues. AM trip, Tom (1/2 of Tom & Sue) was King of the Hill with 4 keepers, 2 of which were between 4.5-6 lbs and again too many throwbacks to keep count. Wednesday was a light crowd, but sure as clockwork, the "Wednesday Boys" showed up and brought fresh water angler Pete for his 1st ever party boat fishing experience, and guess what, he landed the pool fish at 5 lb. Hopefully the "Wednesday Boys" can add one to the group. This morning was chilly, wore my hoodie all morning, but was back to shorts and shirt by the pm trip. Jim, thinking he was stuck in the bottom, pulled up a hefty 5 pounde fluke for the AM pool andl Billy took the PM pool with a 4.5 lb fluke. So many shorts, that Lou stopped counting as it was too tiresome. Great group of souls on board again today, you folks make my day and reinforce why I stick it out in this business. Thanks to All!!!

You know how fluke fishing is, plenty of shorts, many just under the 18" mark, and some quality keepers. People always ask which is better, morning or afternoon? My response is I fish different areas depending on the conditions, so whatever trip works for you is the right one. The next question is "are you fishing the ocean or the bay"? My answer is both, depending on the conditions. The pool fish has been between 4-6 lbs on most trips and some pool winners were Joe, Matthew, Bill, Chris, Noah and Paul. Noah Paradise is 10 yrs old and was aboard today's morning trip with his Grandpa Steve when he landed the pool winning fish at 6 lbs. Awesome catch!
The weather forecast for both Sat and Sun is good and we have had a lot of calls, so get down early to be sure you get a spot. If you have a reservation, be sure to ask for Capt. Kevin, Jake or Jeremy so you know you are on the right boat!!

We had great weather this weekend, which has been a rarity this fluke season, lets hope it keeps up though. Anyway, the good weather brought out the crowds and once we filled all our spots, we pulled out of the dock 10 to 15 minutes early on both morning trips. So, if the weather is nice, get to the boat at least 30 minutes before sailing time so that you do not miss the boat! We had decent fishing on both Saturday and Sunday, with Sunday's s afternoon trip being the best, with George Ripnick landing a 7 pound fluke to take the pool. Victor Ranawat landed 3 nice keepers, 5.5 lbs & 4.5 lbs, and Meghen Gran out with her family of 1st time flukers got her 1st ever keeper fluke. There were several other nice keepers and plenty of almost keepers short action. The people who fish aboard the DOROTHY B. are the "Best" and Jeremy, Jake and I appreciate everyone of you and welcome you on our day's fishing adventure. So thanks for fishing with us today N. Plainfield Johnny, John F, Joe, Pat , Matt (Red shirt), Alex and Craig, Victor, and Megen and family just to name a few. I know I forgot to mention some of you, but give me a break, I am up there in age! Oh Yeah a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Matt who will be the big 50 tomorrow. UPDATE JULY 5
Since our banner Monday afternoon trip, fluking is backing to "normal." Lots of shorts for action on most trips, a few quality keepers 4-6 lbs, several just at 18', and too many that are "almost keepers". Some recent pool winners and notable catches of the week were Bunker Bob, Kat & Sal Gano.
1/2 day fishing is a great way to spend quality family-time with fun for all!! The best boat is the DOROTHY B. with the most experienced 3rd generation Captain, best crew, more individual fishing space, and always family-friendly. Pack your lunch and take the family out for a fun day and maybe even bring home dinner. Jake, Jeremy and I look forward to having your family aboard the DOROTHY B. Fish with us and you will "Experience the Difference"!
