THURS & FRI UPDATE

Lets start with the Fluke Marathon. Well we spent 9 hours looking for the monster deep water ocean Fluke, Elberon, Mud Dump, you name it, we fished it, not much success. Conditions were ok in the early morning hours, but the drift was fast and heavy weight was needed. Boated a few nice sea bass and 1 keeper fluke. Late morning the wind came up and conditions became uncomfortable. Went closer to the beach, but nothing happening, so ended the day back in the Bay with the rest of the fleet.  I think I learned my lesson not to be swayed by "popular demand" and will stick to 1/2 day fluking through Labor Day. Our new Sept schedule will be up soon.

Now, today, Friday's 8 am trip was a good one, plenty of shorts and a mess of keepers for a good gang of fine anglers. Nick, Pat's son, Rascona had 3 keepers up to 5 lbs. but Jerry Jukofsky was king with his limit and the pool winner at 6.13 lbs. Others had a couple, some with 1 and unfortunately some with none, but as fluking goes, this was a good trip!! The afternoon saw a lite crowd and slower catching, but Mike Klein took the pool with a 6 lb fluke.

JULY 29 UPDATE

FLUKE MARATHON TOMORROW, THURSDAY JULY 30,  6:30 AM-3:30 PM         NO 1/2 DAY TRIPS

Had to report today as the morning trip was the Best of the Best, the "should have been here last trip" or "we are going to get them tomorrow" type of trip.  Awesome fishing and catching as well! We had a lite crowd for August, but a good group of souls. The Wednesday boys had 12 keepers between them, Larry had 3 big keepers, Tommy had a fat 4.5 pounder, and the Cosgrove family had a nice catch.  We had at least 30 keepers and a bazillion shorts to make for non stop action.  The afternoon slowed down, but we managed several keepers with Ed landing a 5 lb pool winner. Jake's mom got a nice flattie for dinner.

NO 1/2 TRIPS TOMORROW WE HAVE OUR FLUKE MARATHON BUT WILL BE BACK TO OUR REGULAR SCHEDULE ON FRIDAY.

MON-FRI-7/20 UPDATE

FLUKE MARATHON THURSDAY 7/30  SAILS RAIN OR SHINE  6:30 AM- 3:30 PM   BOARDING STARTS AT 6 AM   $80. pp

Nothing exciting to report, every trip seems to be a repeat of the one's before. The fishing is good, it is the keeping that is slow, even though we are landing some nice fluke between 4-7.5 lbs. Some of these bigger fish were brought over the rails by Teddy, Jason, Dave, Bill, Lou A. Davey & Todd (PA Boys). Friday morning 2 different anglers each landed a 7 pounder, but neither was in the pool-still good eating! Fishing the Bays and ocean, depending on the conditions.

The weekend weather forecast looks perfect for boating, so come pack up the family and spend some quality time aboard the DOROTHY B.

WEEKEND-7/25 & 26

FLUKE MARATHON  THURSDAY  7/30  6:30 AM - 3:30 PM   SAILS RAIN OR SHINE  $80.  BOARDING BEGINS AT 6 AM

Well, not much to report this weekend, probably the best trip was Sat morning where anglers had more keepers in their pails than the rest of the weekend. Pat Rascona saw a lot of action with shorts and landed 2 big keepers, 7 lbs & 5 lbs. Sunday's fishing was slow on both trips, but each trip is a new adventure.  One thing for sure, it is nice and cool on the water even though hot on land. I look forward to pulling out of the dock and the cool breeze once we are out to sea. Pack your cooler, grab your hat, sunglasses and sunscreen and don't forget that "happy attitude". The crew and I will be at the dock to welcome you aboard the DOROTHY B. Once you fish with us and you will "Experience The Difference"!

WEEKEND WRAP UP

Well, this weekend's fluking left much to be desired. We had good crowds of anglers, most of them good folks, but try as I did, I could not produce. Today, Sunday's afternoon trip was the pits. But tomorrow is another day and with the rising sun, we will set out on a new adventure. Join us and let's see what the day will bring.
