SEPTEMBER 9

They say "no news is good news" but in writing this report, I have to disagree. Fishing remains "status quo" mostly shorts and a few keepers in the mix. The good thing is that it has been much cooler on the water than on land, so don't forget to bring a sweatshirt if you venture out on the boat.  Now that school is back in session and many vacations are over, there are no crowds on the boat, so climb aboard. We missed the Wednesday Boys, I guess your vacation is over too.

THIS WEEK'S UPDATE

Nothing changed this week, each day running into the one before until I don't know what day of the week it is. Pool winners/notable catches Nick took the pool 2 mornings in a row,( Mon. 6.5 lb) Lauren had Wed am with 7 lb fluke. Bill, Mark & Sophia, Ray and Bill all pool winners with fluke over 5 lbs. So it goes without saying, Quality not Quanity.  It has been cool on the water even during the "heatwave" so don't forget your sweatshirt or windbreaker. Only 2 weeks left until Labor Day and the "unofficial" end of summer, so bring the family and enjoy a fun day on the water and maybe even take home dinner.

If you have not fished aboard the DOROTHY B. Give us a try and "Experience The Difference"

SEPTEMBER 1, UPDATE

CHARTERED 8 AM TRIP  TUESDAY- SEPT 8             1:30 PM TRIP IS OPEN

Haven't posted much as there is nothing new to say. Most days the fishing was okay, but the catching was slow, a few bigger fish mixed in but no consistency. The hotter days on land were mostly cool and comfortable on the water, so don't let the heat stop you from coming out. We have had a lot of families out and it is a fun way to have quality time with the kids, too bad the fish did not cooperate. As Labor Day approaches, the season will be winding down, so there should be plenty of room aboard the boat.

The fluke season will end on 9/26 and we will switch to one trip a day, on 9/27  7:30 am-2:30 pm fishing for either bottom fish or stripers, haven't decided yet. If you have not gotten your bonus tag for the stripers, visit the NJDEP fish & wildlife page and sign up. The bonus fish will be 28" and can be taken in any order.

SAILING 2 TRIPS A DAY  8 AM-12:30 PM  &  1:30 PM-6 PM

AUGUST 19 UPDATE

Not much going on, plenty of fish being caught, not that many kept. We have had several fish weighing in between 6.5 and 8 lbs, so I guess it is Quality not Quantity. One thing for sure, the last few trips it has been much cooler on the water than on land.

SAILING 2 TIMES A DAY  8 AM-12:30 AM  &  1:30 PM-6 PM
