9/5 UPDATE

CHARTERED 8 AM TRIP THURS 9/7  OPEN 1:30 PM TRIP

1/2 DAY PORGIES EVERYDAY  8AM-12:30 PM  &  1:30 PM-6 PM

We are out on our Fluke Marathon Trip this morning, will post results this evening.  Due to weather forecast, we decided not to sail on Sunday's 8 am trip, but went out at 1:30 pm. The ocean was uncomfortable, so after a while we went inside, but not before Kerry got a jumbo porgy that ended up winning the pool. All anglers on board caught fish, though not the buckets of trips past.  On Monday, with the change in wind direction, the waters calmed considerably and we were back in the ocean for both trip and all anglers had porgies to take home, some had a bucketful, some 1/2 bucket and some 10-15 fish. When all anglers aboard bring fish home, I consider it to be a good trip.  Fluke season closes today 9/5. Sea Bass closed 9/1 so we will continue our 1/2 day trips for porgies for the rest of the month. We hope you will join us on our fishing adventures.

CHARTERED THURS SEPT 7, ON  8 AM TRIP   OPEN 1:30 OM TRIP

Another month has whizzed by and it is Sept 1, and today's weather feels like Fall. The sloppy ocean conditions on Monday and Tuesday (rained all morning), kept us inside and we had good to excellent fishing on all trips. Wed morning's trip, which was the 44th porgy/sea bass trip of the season  and it was the worst with 2 dozen anglers catching about the same amount of porgies with a few sea bass in the mix. Thank goodness,  the afternoon trip was not a repeat of the morning where we saw good fishing and plenty of fish for all aboard. Check out the pictures from Wed. of young Charlie and others in the photo section. No pictures for Mon & Tues as mate Sean & boat photographer was not aboard. Out this chilly morning and fishing is pretty good. Sea Bass is closed so it will be porgies for now.

CHARTERED THURS 9/7 ON 8 AM TRIP   1:30 PM TRIP OPEN

Friday was a beautiful sunny fall-like day with anglers experiencing good fishing on both trips. On the morning trip, Paddy R was out with his friend Rob and his sons, Dylan and Brandon and Dylan caught the pool fish. John and Alex spent some quality family time fishing together and bringing home plenty of fish. Check out Danny's catch on the board waiting to be cleaned in the photo section.  Herb Miller was out with wife Debra and they had a blast filling up their buckets with porgies. On the afternoon trip, James was out spending family time with his girls, Amelia and Olivia, and caught enough porgies for several dinners. It was Alyssa Birthday and she spent it fishing with Chris, who won the afternoon pool. A lot of nice people aboard and we hope they all enjoyed the time spent aboard.

Today, the ocean was quite uncomfortable, cold and damp, but we had the heartiest of the hearty aboard and they stayed at the rails and fished the entire trip, filling their buckets with porgies. Seth ventured out with his "kids" (they are grownups, but will always be his kids) and they caught enough fish to feed the neighborhood. The afternoon ocean was just as bad as the morning and we had to retreat inside after about an hour or so, but not before Kerry landed a "Mega Porgy" which was the pool winner. Once inside and the waters were calmer, anglers perked up and began to fish again. We hope they ended their day with good thoughts about being aboard and enjoyed the many fish that they took home

FLUKE MARATHON  TUES 9/5  6:30AM-3:30PM  .  LIMITED   RESERVATIONS ONLY

Beautiful day on Sunday with good fishing in the morning and excellent fishing in the afternoon. Plenty of porgies and nice sea bass, as well some trigger fish for all aboard. Monday we had excellent fishing again with a mixed bag even though the ocean conditions forced us to fish inside. All anglers had plenty of fish for the dinner table and freezer. We will continue to porgy fish through Sept, however the Sea Bass fishery is closed beginning Sept. 1.
